This morning, I got the email from the FCC — my General Class license upgrade has officially been processed. And yep, it happened on April Fools’ Day! But don’t worry, it’s not a prank — I passed my General Class exam this past Saturday!

Since getting my Technician license earlier this year, I’ve been taking my time exploring the hobby. I’m still very much a beginner, but this upgrade is the next big step.

With the General Class license upgrade behind me, I’m now looking forward to getting into HF and starting my journey with Parks on the Air (POTA). I haven’t built a full station yet, but I’m planning out my POTA setup and hope to begin hunting soon — then eventually work toward activating.

There’s still a lot to learn, and I’ll be sharing everything as I go. For now, I’m just excited to have access to more bands and to keep growing in the hobby.
