After a five-day study sprint, I’m officially an Amateur Extra! 🎉 I couldn’t wait for the next local test session — so I scheduled an online exam with WM7X, took the test, and passed!

When I first got into ham radio, I honestly found the idea of passing all three license exams pretty intimidating. I put the idea aside at first — until my dad suggested we get licensed together. That’s when I discovered Ham Radio Prep, and it changed everything.

Their video lessons made the material finally stick. I had tried flashcards and jumping into practice tests before, but nothing clicked like their structured, easy-to-follow format. I ended up using Ham Radio Prep to pass all three exams — Technician, General, and now Amateur Extra.

Studying for Extra was tough, especially with how much technical detail is in the pool. But once I committed to five focused days of studying, it all started coming together. By the fifth day, I was ready — and I couldn’t resist the chance to knock it out early with an online exam.

Big thanks to the team at WM7X for making the process smooth, and to Ham Radio Prep for helping me every step of the way. This hobby has become such a big part of my life in a short time, and I’m excited to keep learning, and explore the bands!
